Mr. Scottie Ross' Obituary
Mr. Wallace Scottie Ross, age 79, passed away on Monday, September 5, 2016. Scottie was born August 16, 1937 to Joseph V. and Wilma E. (Scott) Ross in Grant, MI. On January 25, 1958 he married the former Marilles Wells in Muskegon and she preceded him in death on September 1, 2016. After earning his degree from Western Michigan University, Scottie taught at Mona Shores High School for 35 years; retiring in 1991. He was part of the Sons of Norway for many years, West Michigan Duck Hunters, Twin Lake Gun Club, and the NRA. He and Marilles would hunt and fish together, snowmobile, and they cherished time spent with family at the cabin on the Little Manistee River. He is SURVIVED by his children, Kim (Jeff Tyler) Clawson of Roosevelt Park, Scott (Darlene) Ross of Cypress, TX, and Chris (JoAnn) Ross of Wolf Lake; grandchildren, Blaine, Chase, Rachel, Chris, Cori, and Chelsea; great-grandchildren, Tessa, Brynleigh, Sawyer, Annabelle and Mason; a brother, Donald E. (Marge Parker) Ross; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents. A FUNERAL SERVICE for Scottie and Marilles was held 11:00 AM Tuesday, September 6, 2016 at The Lee Chapel, 6291 S. Harvey St., 231 798-1100 with Pastor Mary Ivanov officiating. Burial was made in Norton Cemetery. Memorial Contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
