Selma "Sally" Dahl's Obituary
Mrs. Selma “Sally” Dahl, age 93, of Spring Lake passed away Friday, February 3, 2012. She was born October 25, 1918 in Lowell, to George and Rosa (Bieri) Kerr.
She was a member of St. Luke Lutheran Church in Nunica. Sally has lived in Spring Lake since 1954, and owned and operated Dahl’s Five & Dime Store for over 20 years with her late husband, Russell. She was a gentle woman who always had kind words to say and always welcomed people into her home. Sally loved her family and looked forward to Sunday dinners and family reunions. She enjoyed playing Skip Bo and bingo, watching birds and doing crossword puzzles.
On January 26, 1946, she married Russell Dahl in Muskegon and he preceded her in death on April 21, 2011. She is survived by 1 daughter, Nancee (Lonnie) Czinder; 7 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her wonderful friends and staff at Heartwood Lodge, especially her roommate Dorothy. She was preceded in death by her parents, and son Russell “Rusty” Dahl Jr. in 1987.
A memorial service will be held 1:00 PM Friday, February 17, 2012 at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church in Nunica with Rev. Bill Lahrman officiating. Friends may meet the family one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in Spring Lake Township Cemetery.
