Serge Seiferlein's Obituary
Serge Seiferlein, age 81, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, August 28, 2021. He was born November 22, 1939 in Pontiac, MI to Sidney and Marie (Hager) Seiferlein. Serge graduated from Muskegon High School in 1957 and spent several years in the National Guard where he attained the rank of Sergeant. On November 13, 1965, he married the former Laura Lewis at the Fruitport Congregational Church. For more than 60 years, Serge provided exceptional automotive body and paint services to many customers throughout the greater Muskegon area through his business, Auto Body Clinic, on Lakeshore Drive. He retired on March 13, 2020. He was a former member of First Congregational Church and Christ Community Church. Serge attended many car shows over the years, displaying several of his custom cars and paint jobs, and won many trophies. He also enjoyed capturing local nature through photography and sharing his work, Dock of the Bay, at art fairs. Serge traveled all over the country, making it to almost every state, and took memorable trips with the family every year. He was a great husband and cherished all of his children and grandchildren. Serge is survived by his wife of 55 years, Laura; 4 sons: Mark (Heather) Seiferlein of Norton Shores, Matthew (Luan) Seiferlein of Mattawan, MI, Michael (Mandy) Seiferlein, and Mitchell (Brett) Seiferlein both of Norton Shores; 10 grandchildren: Tyler and Cameron, Mattason, Mason, Zachary, and Courtney, Cohen and Sydney, Sawyer and Veda; brother, Scott (Sherry) Seiferlein of Petoskey, MI; brothers-in-law: Kenneth Kendra of Fruitport and Harold (Elizabeth) Lewis of Muskegon; sister-in-law, Marjorie (Howard) Kerkstra of Fruitport; several nieces and nephews and his dearest friend, Dr. Charles M. Lewis. Serge was preceded in death by his parents, parents-in-law, and sister-in-law, Linda Kendra. There will be a private family service held for Serge. Burial will take place in Sunrise Memorial Gardens. A celebration of Serge’s life will take place at a later date. MEMORIALS to the American Cancer Society will be appreciated.
