Shannon Grace Shier's Obituary
Shannon Grace Shier, age 57, passed away Monday, January 22, 2024, after bravely battling cancer. She was born January 4, 1967, in Dallas, Texas, to Jake and Johannah (Cargill) Riley. Her family would move to Lawton, OK and she graduated from Lawton High School in 1986. On February 24, 2018, she married Adam Shier.
Shannon worked for KSS Enterprises for 25 years and was recognized as a female pioneer and mentor in the field of janitorial supply sales. She volunteered for many years with the Jaycees. She would brighten up the room when she entered and had a gift that she could get along with anyone. She was a true go-getter, enjoyed a good challenge, and was fiercely loyal. She had many best friends.
Shannon and Adam loved to spend time together, especially traveling. When home, Shannon enjoyed the water and if the boat was in the water, she was likely on it. Her favorite moments were spent around a bonfire with friends. She had a big heart and even though she and Adam had a blended family, there were no stepchildren, she loved them all as her own.
Shannon will be dearly missed by her husband, Adam; children, Connor (Stephanie) Gibbons, Jessica (Tim Knoespel) Shier, Cameron (Mary) Shier, and Alexa Shier; brothers, Wade (Melanie) Riley and Daniel Riley; and her close girlfriends. She was preceded in death by her parents.
A MEMORIAL SERVICE will be held at 2 PM on February 18, 2024, at The VanZantwick Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services (620 Washington Ave., Grand Haven, MI 49417), with a Celebration of Life immediately following from 3-8 PM at the Porto Bello - Grand Hall (41 Washington Ave., Grand Haven, MI 49417).
