Sharon Y. Cooper's Obituary
Mrs. Sharon Y. Cooper, age 74, passed away Saturday, November 12, 2016 at her home. She was born on October 25, 1942 in Muskegon to Richard and LaVon (Smith) Hasenbank and resided in Spring Lake for most of her life. Sharon worked for Spring Lake Schools for 35 years, prior to retiring in 2003. She enjoyed sewing, knitting, going out to eat and shopping, but most of all loved spending time with her family especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. On November 13, 1965 she married Robert Cooper, and he preceded her in death on June 24, 1988. SURVIVORS include three children, Dawn DeCan of Spring Lake, Beth (Tim) Ernst of Nunica and Bonnie (Richard) Drier of Norton Shores; three grandchildren, Gary (Tabitha) Wilson, Curtis Wilson and Bobby Drier; three great-grandchildren, Aydin Wilson, Tristan Wilson, and Easton Wilson; three sisters, Phyllis (John) Wilterdink, Sue (Dennis) Scott, Chris (Jack) Nibbelink; three brothers, Ken (Anne Kozloski) Hasenbank, Gene (Donna) Hasenbank, and Tim Hasenbank; many nieces and nephews; special friend, Joseph Makin his daughter, Corena Willwerth and her children, Veronica and Jacob; best friend, Ellen David; and caregiver, Raelynn Sova. Sharon was also preceded in death by her parents; brother, Ron Hasenbank; and son’s-in-law, Tom DeCan and Jerry Wilson. MEMORIAL SERVICES will be 2PM Monday, November 21 at The Lee Chapel 6291 S. Harvey St. (231) 798-1100 with Rev. Dan Anderson officiating. VISITATION with the family will be one hour prior to the service, from 1-2PM. Burial will take place in Spring Lake Cemetery.
