Sharon Lee Honore's Obituary
Mrs. Sharon Lee Honore (Kent), age 71, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 30, 2017. She was born September 26, 1945 in Muskegon, Michigan to Clifford and Stella Kent, who have both preceded her in death. She graduated from Muskegon Heights High School in 1963. Sharon had a passion for creating arts and crafts, especially making Christmas and Spring wreaths from finds on her every day nature walks. Sharon also enjoyed cooking and baking. She always made sure that there was enough food for the whole neighborhood plus more. She earned her nickname “Taco Queen” for her delicious tacos she made frequently. Sharon loved her dogs and had many over the years. Her golden retrievers (Trucker and Thunder) were Sharon’s pride and joy; she gave them walks at least once a day through rain or shine. Sharon was a member of Lebanon Lutheran Church in Whitehall, Michigan for many years. She was proud of the fact she was the first female “sexton” (custodian) for the church in the late 1970’s and 1980’s. Sharon had also worked at Howmet and Reeths-Puffer Public Schools before her retirement. Sharon will be deeply missed by her husband, Paul, whom she married on January 23, 1965. She is also survived by her two children, Jon (Heidi) and Stefanie (Tracy), and by grandchildren, Charleen, Mason, Cody, Kaytlyn, Kyler, Jaiden and furry grandkids, Brodie and Bo, brothers, Rick Kent, Randy Kent and sister, Lori Wygant. A Celebration of Sharon’s Life will be held at Lebanon Lutheran Church, 1101 S. Mears Ave., Whitehall, MI 49461 on Sunday, August 13, 2017 from 3:00 PM to 5:30 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Muskegon Humane Society and Animal Rescue of Muskegon County in honor of Sharon’s passion for animals.
