Mrs. Sharon Jacobs' Obituary
Sharon Jacobs, age 78, passed away Tuesday, March 31, 2020 after a courageous battle with glioblastoma. Sharon was born in 1941 to Morgan and Gladys Legard in Muskegon. In 1981, she was married to Arthur Jacobs. Sharon’s faith was a very integral part of her life and she was a member of Laketon Bethel Reformed Church. Her heart of compassion and generosity led her to co-develop the Home Touch Ministry for home-bound seniors. She was employed as a pharmacist assistant at Prescription Shop for 10 years and then became a gifted floral designer and businesswoman, participating in craft shows for 25 years. She began roller skating in her youth and became an accomplished dance skater, having received medals. Her real gift was that she loved people and was blessed with many friends in all walks of life.
Sharon will be deeply missed by Art, her husband of 38 years; her daughters, Suzanne (Nathan) Kline of High Point, NC, Rebecca (Jack) Mueller of N. Muskegon, Tracey Cleveland (Jason) of O’Fallon, IL and Jaqueline Johnson of Muskegon; 9 grandchildren, Evan (Michelle) Kline, Anna (Chad) Brantley, Allison Kline, Alex Kline, Tripp (fiancée Jordan) Mueller, Erik (Tricia) Mueller, Bradey Cleveland, Jerret Cleveland, and Nolan Johnson; great-grandchildren, Ezekiel Brantley, Beckett Mueller, and one on the way; brother, David (Paula) Legard; sisters, Janet (Ron) Ortquist and Carol Legard; sister-in-law, Sally Legard; and several nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Robert Legard. A special thanks to the staff at The Poppen Residence where she was compassionately cared for in the last months of her life.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, August 8, 2020 at 11AM at Laketon Bethel Church, 1568 W. Giles Rd., Muskegon, MI 49445. Visitaion with the family will be one-hour prior to the service, masks are mandatory. Memorial Contributions in Sharon’s name may be directed to the Laketon Bethel Church Senior Ministries or the Harbor Hospice Foundation.
