Sheila Kaye Parketon's Obituary
Our Father reached down from Heaven, wrapped his arms around our Mother and carried her home. Today we rejoice and are at peace in knowing that she is with her Savior, her husband and loved ones; celebrating, dancing and singing at her homecoming. Sheila Kaye Parketon, age 63, passed away peacefully Monday, February 8, 2010 in Muskegon surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Muskegon on July 7, 1946 to Harry and Shirley (Grevel) VanDyke. Sheila’s extended family and place of employment for over 25 years was the Grand Rapids Home for Veterans, State of Michigan. She is survived by her son, Rodney (Lacey Hansen) Cory; daughter, Kimberly (Floyd) Peplinski; 8 grandchildren, Nicole, Nico, Chanse, Destinee, Kyle, Brittany, Derek and Zaccari; 3 great-grandchildren; 3 brothers, Steve (Darlene) VanDyke, Kurt (Judy) VanDyke and Mark (Gayle) VanDyke; 1 sister, Shirley Brink; several nieces, nephews and many friends. She was preceded in death by her husband and love of her life, Larry Parketon; her parents; her grandmother, Florence McClure and 1 brother, Barry VanDyke. A MEMORIAL SERVICE will be 1 PM Monday at Kainay Community Church (3387 Heights Ravenna Rd.) with Pastor Chip Hackney and Pastor Tom Stone officiating. VISITATION will be 1-hour prior to the service.
