Sherlie Ann Davis' Obituary
Mrs. Sherlie Ann Davis, age 70, passed away Sunday, May 5, 2013, at the Poppen Residence of Harbor Hospice. She was born July 28, 1942 in Bragg City, MO to Jessie Carl and Beulah May (Smith) Curtis and lived most of her life in the Fruitport area. She married Richard “Dick” Lee Davis on July 17, 1959 in Fruitport and he survives her. Sherlie worked as a Systems Manager for Meijer, Inc. at the Grand Haven location for 28 years and retired in 2004. She enjoyed playing card games – especially rummy and euchre. Sherlie especially enjoyed spending time with her family and grandchildren. SURVIVORS include her husband, Dick; 3 children, Tamara (Larry) Beck, Rick (Michelle) Davis, Steven (Muriah) Davis; 5 grandchildren, Jessica (Joshua) Baxter, Jentry Beck, Paige Davis, Hannah Davis, Chase Davis; 1 great-granddaughter, Sierra Baxter; 1 brother, Lanny (Pat) Curtis; and her special card playing friends, Jim and Karen Gerwig. She was preceded in death by her parents. A FUNERAL SERVICE will be held 11:00 AM Thursday, May 9, 2013 at, The Lee Chapel, 6291 S. Harvey Street, (231) 798-1100, with Pastor Mark Gilson officiating. VISITATION will be held 5-8 PM Wednesday. INTERMENT will take place at Fruitport Township Cemetery. MEMORIAL CONTRIBUTIONS may be directed to the Fruitport Library for Children’s Literacy Programs.
