Sherman Nelson's Obituary
Sherman W. Nelson, age 64, passed away Wednesday afternoon, November 30, 2011 at his home in San Rafael, CA following a two year battle with cancer. He was born in Muskegon on April 3, 1947 to Walter and Maxine Nelson, was raised in Norton Shores and attended Hile Schools. Sherm graduated from Mona Shores H.S. in 1965 and following his graduation from Michigan State University, moved to California. Mr. Nelson was formerly Vice President of Manufacturing for Hills Brothers Coffee and later went into business for himself. He is survived by: his brother, Larry; step-mother, Marian Garfield Nelson; her children, Susan VanOudheusden and William Garfield; his uncle & aunt, Donald & Karolyn Nelson and; many loving cousins. In accordance to Sherm’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a memorial service will held in Muskegon at a later date.
