Mrs. Shirley Maxine Detamore's Obituary
Mrs. Shirley Maxine Detamore, age 85, passed away Sunday evening, November 25, 2012, at her home. She was born April 21, 1927 in Thompsonville, MI to Edward and Mary (King) Burmeister; and has resided in the Muskegon area most of her life. Shirley has worked at Sealed Power Corp. and was a graduate of Muskegon High School. She attended St. Francis Catholic Church and enjoyed knitting, golfing, traveling, playing cards, casinos and shopping. On April 23, 1949 she married Robert Detamore; and he survives her along with 3 children, Jim Detamore and friend Cheryl Huntenga, Don Detamore and Sandy (Ron) Langlois; 5 grandchildren, Jill (Chris) Shaheen, Jamey (Shawn) Detamore, Jeff Detamore, Josh Langlois, Katie Langlois; 2 great-grandchildren, Lukas and Lucie Shaheen; 2 sisters-in-law, Olga Burmeister and Judy Kitchen. Shirley was preceded in death by her brother, Edward Burmeister and step-brother, Vernon Kitchen. The MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL will be celebrated 11:00 AM Thursday at Marian Chapel of St. Francis deSales Church with the Rev. Philip P. Salmonowicz presiding. VISITATION WITH Shirley’s family will be 6-8:00 PM Wednesday at The Walburn Chapel of Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc., 1547 W. Sherman Blvd., Muskegon, MI 49441 (231-759-8565), where the Rosary will be prayed at 7:00PM. Memorial Donations to St. Francis Church or VNS Hospice will be appreciated.
