Mrs. Shirley Ann Dyer's Obituary
Mrs. Shirley Ann Dyer, age 79, passed away Tuesday evening, January 6, 2015, at her home. Shirley was born August 4, 1935 in Muskegon to Deron and Carmen (Wright) Rich. On May 26, 1956 she married James Edward Dyer in North Muskegon and he survives her. Shirley had worked as a secretary at Kellogg Furniture for over 20 years prior to her retirement. She had also worked at Misco, Kaydon, and American Coil Spring in previous years. Shirley was a member of Trinity Baptist Church and prior to that had been a member of Dalton Baptist Church and Rothbury Community Church. She had served as a deaconess, and most importantly, a witness; ministering to many in the mission field throughout the years. Shirley enjoyed gardening, making floral arrangements, fishing and time spent with her family. In addition to Jim, her husband of 58 years, Shirley is survived by her children, Robert (Delene) Dyer of Muskegon, Janet (Steven) Murawski of Houston, TX, Larry (Michelle) Dyer of Twin Lake, and David Dyer of Muskegon; 6 grandchildren, Mark, Michael, and Nathan Dyer, Nicholas Murawski, and Jennifer and Jessica Dyer; 4 great-grandchildren; her sisters, Patti Wisner of Whitehall, Frances (Ron) Sova of Muskegon, Susan (Tim) MacDonald of Vallejo, CA, and Carol (Bill Rhoda) Rich of Santa Cruz, CA; and several nieces and nephews. A FUNERAL SERVICE will be held 11:00 AM Friday, January 9, 2015 at the Trinity Baptist Church, 4381 S. Sheridan, with Pastor Scott Church officiating. VISITATION will be one hour prior to the service (10-11 AM). MEMORIAL CONTRIBUTIONS may be made to the Trinity Baptist Church Mission Fund or to a charity of your choice.
