Shirley A. Liefer's Obituary
Mrs. Shirley A. (Swanson) Liefer, age 86, passed away Monday, September 19, 2016 at home. She was born July 19, 1930 in Muskegon to Harry and Magdalene (Kison) Swanson and lived in the area her entire life. On July 7, 1956 she married Kenneth B. Liefer in Muskegon and he preceded her in death on August 11, 2004. Shirley had worked for over 20 years as an expeditor at Continental Motors and was also a longtime member of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church. SURVIVORS include her daughter, Kathy Liefer of Norton Shores; sisters-in-law, Marilyn (Al) Engstrom and Karen Liefer; along with many nieces and nephews. Shirley was also preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Lucille Lodzinski, Edith Chittenden, Beverly (Joyce) Bakke; and her brother, Charles (Jim) Swanson. Shirley’s family would like to express their appreciation for all the considerate care, thoughts and prayers given to Shirley and her family over the last several years. A CELEBRATION OF LIFE will be held between 5:00 PM and 7:00 PM Sunday, September 25, 2016 at Fricano’s Muskegon Lake, 1050 W. Western Ave., Muskegon, Michigan.
