Shirley A. Mavis' Obituary
Mrs. Shirley A. Mavis, age 78, passed away Thursday, November 7, 2013 at the Poppen House. She was born on May 23, 1935 in Muskegon to Brice and Helen (Knerr) McFall, and resided in the area all of her life. Shirley loved crafts, cross word puzzles, cooking, and holidays but most importantly her family. On May 18, 1955 she married Dorlan “Duke” Mavis, and he survives her along with 3 children, Vonda (Jerome) Martin, Linda (Stephen) Pearson, and Scott Mavis all of Muskegon; and two grandchildren, Dana Martin and Allyson Mavis. Shirley was preceded in death by her brother, Ronald McFall. A FUNERAL SERVICE will be 1PM Monday at The Lee Chapel, Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc. 6291 S. Harvey St. 231-798-1100. VISITATION with the family will be 1 hour prior to the service, from 12-1PM. Burial will take place in Norton Cemetery. Memorial Contributions to Harbor Hospice Poppen House will be appreciated.
