Shirley L. McKeown's Obituary
Shirley Lorraine McKeown passed away peacefully in her home at 97 years of age with her family at her side on August 19, 2022. She was preceded in death by her husband, John (Jack) McKeown. Also her parents, Albert and Josephine Moesker, and sister, Betty Buikema. Shirley grew up in Bluffton, lived in East Muskegon and then 66 years in Lakeside. She was an active member of St Francis De Sales Catholic church for 66 years. Shirley loved her bowling, but golf was a passion at her favorite course Chase Hammond, where she played in 4 leagues until age 92. Shirley is survived by her 10 children: Daniel McKeown wife Sharon, Kathie Puhalski husband John, Michael McKeown wife Sherri, Patrick McKeown wife Debbie, John McKeown wife Deborah, Timothy McKeown, Laurie Skiles husband Leonard, Thomas McKeown, James McKeown wife Regina, Brian McKeown. Special daughters-in-law, Marilyn McKeown, Mary Bratherton and Nancy McKeown. Shirley is also survived by 37 grandchildren, 68 great grandchildren, and 12 great great grandchildren. The MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL will be 11AM Friday, August 26, 2022 at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church (2929 McCracken St. Muskegon, MI 49441) with Rev. Charlie Hall presiding. VISITATION with the family will be 4-8PM Thursday, August 25, 2022 at The Walburn Chapel, 1547 W. Sherman Blvd. Muskegon, MI 49441 (231) 759-8565, with a Scripture Service prayed at 7:30 PM. Visitation will also be 1 hour prior to the service, from 10-11 AM Friday. Burial will take place in Lakeside Cemetery. In Shirley’s memory, go and visit an old friend.
