Shirley Ann Pfister's Obituary
Mrs. Shirley Ann Pfister, age 85, passed away Sunday, November 8, 2020 in Muskegon. She was born on January 27, 1935 in Muskegon to George and Margaret (Buit) Scanlon, and resided in the area her entire life. Shirley worked as a Registered Nurse at Hackley Hospital for over 35 years. She was a long time member of Sheridan Drive Baptist Church, where she both played the piano and was the choir director. Shirley was also an avid bowler, and is inducted in the Muskegon Hall of Fame. She enjoyed crocheting, knitting, camping and traveling with her family. On June 21, 1957 she married Norman Pfister and together they celebrated 63 years of marriage before Norman preceded Shirley in death on August 22, 2020. SURVIVORS include two children, Michael (Valarae) Pfister and Deanna (Vincent) Malenfant; 7 grandchildren, Andrew (Jenn) Malenfant, Andrew Stair, Aaron (Ashley) Malenfant, KaTrena (Christian Fulljames) Malenfant, Valaine (Elijah Perry) Pfister, Sullivan (Lexi Gutierrez) Malenfant, Moriah Pfister; 5 great-grandchildren, Emma, Palmer, Uriah, Gibson, and Alice; and brother, Robert (Barb) Scanlon. Shirley was also preceded in death by two brothers, James and Marvin Scanlon. A Memorial Service will be held 11 AM Saturday, November 14, 2020 at the Sheridan Drive Baptist Church, 84 S. Sheridan Dr., Muskegon, 49442. Visitation and refreshments will take place after the service. Contributions in memory of Mrs. Pfister may be made to the family.
