Shirley A. Rahn's Obituary
Shirley A. Rahn, age 86, passed away on Friday, October 12, 2018 at home. She was born on February 10, 1932 to Mulder and Rosa (Schurr) Okerlund in Muskegon. Shirley was a long-time member of Samuel Lutheran Church. She graduated from Muskegon High School in 1950 and later from Augustana School of Nursing in 1953. As a registered nurse she worked in pediatrics, I.C.U., for Dr. B.C. Olsen and visiting nurses retiring in 1991. On September 24, 1955 she married William H. Rahn and he preceded her in death in 2001. SURVIVORS include 4 children, Patti (Joe) Ferguson, Vicki (Patrick) McPhail, Bob Rahn and Bethann Rahn; grandchildren, David (Jen) Larabee, Tim (Diana) Larabee, Mike (Angie) Larabee, Ben Larabee, Becca (Brett) Campbell, Rachael (Wolf) Thielmann, Michael (Lindsay Hagan) Ferguson, Bobby Rahn and Matthew Ferguson; numerous great-grandchildren; sister, LaNeva Westgate; brother-in-law, Frank (Jackie) Rahn; nieces, nephews and special friends. She was also preceded in death by her parents; sister, Ruth Bengston; brothers, Carl Okerlund and Paul Okerlund. A FUNERAL SERVICE will be held 11:00 am, Friday, October 19, 2018 at The Sytsema Chapel, 737 Apple Ave., 231-726-5210 with Pastor Chris Anderson officiating. VISITATION with the family will be held Thursday evening from 5pm to 7pm at the funeral home. MEMORIALS can be directed to the C.F. Derezinski Post 7729 Auxiliary.
