Shirley Mae Rohrbough's Obituary
Shirley Mae Rohrbough, age 88, passed away Thursday, October 30, 2025 at Christian Haven Home in Grand Haven, MI. She was born December 13, 1936 in Waynesburg, KY to Henry Clifton and Elgie A. (Singleton) Stonesifer. Shirley married Carl Phillip Rohrbough on October 19, 1956 in Akron, OH and Carl passed away on March 18, 2016. Shirley worked as a secretary for Michigan Gas Company in Grand Rapids. She also had worked for Firestone Tire and Birch Directory in Akron, OH. Shirley enjoyed teaching church school, writing, reading, gardening and needlework. She especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and babysitting. Survivors include 2 sons, Clifton Phillip (Susan) Rohrbough, Eric Brian (Mary) Rohrbough; 4 grandchildren, Miranda (Chandler Bridges) Rohrbough, Titus (Alyssa) Rohrbough, Luke (Bekah) Rohrbough, Jacoba (Chase) Spooner; 4 step-grandchildren, Brian (Courtney) Kingshott, Jeff (Nicole) Kingshott, Carson Clapp, Carter Clapp; 11 great-grandchildren; her sister, Waneta Alexander; 2 brothers-in-law, Eugene Rohrbough, Frederick Shannon; and many nieces and nephews. Shirley was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Phillip Rohrbough; 1 grandson, Blake Clifton Rohrbough; her parents; and 3 sisters, Vernelle Shannon, Willena Rawdon, and Agnes Marks. The Rohrbough Family would like to express their gratitude to the following for the exceptional care and concern shown to Shirley in her final stage of life. We are grateful for the many calls, text messages, prayers and visits that helped guide us. There are many stories we could tell of each Care Giver listed as well Christian Haven Home and the Staff of Gentiva Hospice stepping in and stepping up, far exceeding anything we could have prayed would have ever been possible. A Funeral Service will be held 11:00 AM Friday, November 7, 2025 at The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 6291 Harvey Street, Norton Shores, MI 49444, with her grandson, Luke Rohrbough officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service on Friday. Interment will take place at Pine Hill Cemetery in Fruitport.
