Mrs. Shirley A. Sieffert, age 89, went to be with her Lord Jesus Christ on Thursday, January 7, 2016. She was born in Hart, Michigan on October 12, 1926 to Charles and Dorothy (Riggs) Bushaw. On July 4, 1943, she married Wilbur “Pete” Sieffert Jr. in Yuma, Arizona. In 1949 they moved to Muskegon Hts, Michigan where eventually Shirley rose to assistant manager at the Eberhards Grocery store. She was a longtime member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. She was a former Sacrastin, lay distributor, hospital volunteer and was very active in Tuesday prayer meetings and the DeColores movement. Shirley’s family was very important to her and they always came first. SURVIVORS include her husband of 73 years, Wilber “Pete” Jr; children, Carol “Cookie” (Bruce) Sabin, Linda Clark, Ann Marie Sieffert, Paula (John) Stauffer, Thomas (Loretta) Sieffert and George Sieffert; 17 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild; 2 sisters, Betty Lawson and Marie (Earl) Muhleck; 1 brother, Louie Bushaw. Shirley was preceded in death by 2 sisters, Ruby and Beverly. The MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL will be held on Wednesday, January 13, 2016 at 11 AM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 150 E. Summit Ave. VISITATION will be held 10-11 AM at the church. Memorial donations may be made to Harbor Hospice or the Shirley Sieffert Benevolent Fund at Community Shores Bank.
