Shirley Ethel Stewart's Obituary
Shirley Ethel Stewart, age 86, passed away on Tuesday, January 3, 2023, in Muskegon, MI. Shirley was born in Manistee, MI, on November 3, 1936, to her parents Lester and Dorothy (Touch) Porter. On June 28, 1965, she married Billy Stewart Jr, and they spent 47 wonderful years together until he preceded her in death in 2013. Shirley was a social butterfly who had many friends. One of her favorite pastimes was going to yard sales and flea markets with her sisters. She loved to travel and was blessed to be able to visit Australia and Africa. She also enjoyed listening to country music and dancing. Shirley will be lovingly remembered by her sons: Todd Jackson, Doyle (Bonnie) Chapman, Timothy (Leeanne) Stewart; eight grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren; two sisters, Judith and Connie; friend and caregiver, Terry Knarr; and many other friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lester and Dorothy Porter; husband, Billy Stewart Jr; and sister, Nancy. A private funeral service will be held. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made out to the Alzheimer’s Association.
