Shirley A. Troupe's Obituary
Shirley A. Troupe, age 73, of Grand Haven passed away Thursday, April 17, 2008, at a local hospital. She was born November 4, 1934, in Coral, Michigan, to Stewart and Anna (Snow) McCambridge, and she married Roger Troupe on August 22, 1959, in Greenville, MI.
Shirley was a 1955 graduate of the Mercy Central School of Nursing and worked as a Registered Nurse at North Ottawa Community Hospital for many years before her retirement in 1995. She was an active member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Grand Haven, and she was an avid golfer and Detroit Pistons fan. Above all, Shirley loved and enjoyed her family and her grandchildren.
She is lovingly remembered by her husband, Roger; three daughters: twins Kathy (Mike) Smith of Grand Haven and Karen (John) Lux of Brighton Township, MI, and Karol (Mike) Ostrowski of Northville, MI; two sons, R.J. Troupe of Fennville, MI, and Jeff Troupe of Grand Haven; and eight grandchildren: Alison, Mallory, and Adrienne Smith, Nathan and Michaelyn Lux, and Eric, Claire, and Jennifer Ostrowski. She was preceded in death by a sister, Pauline Reynolds, and four brothers: Bernard, Earl, James, and Gerald McCambridge.
The Funeral Mass for Shirley will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 22, 2008, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Grand Haven with Rev. William Langlois and Rev. Michael Shea as concelebrants. Friends may meet the family 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Monday, April 21, at VanZantwick Bartels Kammeraad Funeral Home in Grand Haven with a Scripture Service at 7:00 p.m. Interment will be in Lake Forest Cemetery. Memorial contributions in Shirley’s name may be made to Hospice of North Ottawa Community, http://www.noch.org/hospice.html, or to the Susan G. Komen for the Cure Breast Cancer Foundation.
