Shirley I. Crane's Obituary
Mrs. Shirley Irene Crane, age 79, passed away Monday morning, March 7, 2011. She was born January 8, 1932 in Trilby, OH to Charles and Alta May (Strattan) Schaub and had been a Muskegon resident since 1970. Mrs. Crane worked for Yellow Freight as a dispatcher for 44 years before retiring in 1994. She volunteered for the Frauenthal Center, enjoyed bowling and gardening, and belonged to the Golden Agers Cribbage Group. But most importantly, she enjoyed spending time with her family. On September 13, 1953 she married Ernest “Dale” Crane in Three Rivers, MI and he survives her along with 3 children, James (Nancy) Crane of Spring Lake, Rebecca (Craig Fritz) DeYoung of Grand Haven, Brian (Linda) Crane of Wyoming, MI; 7 grandchildren, Robert, Michelle, and William Crane, Abigail (Jeremy) True, Cassandra DeYoung, Heather (Travis Miller) Crane, Curtis Crane; 4 great-grandchildren, Jaidyn, Emma, and Eden True, Zoe Miller; sister, Wiletta (Robert) Baker of Three Rivers, MI; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, 1 sister, and 2 brothers. SERVICES will be 11:00 AM Thursday at The Walburn Chapel, Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc. 1547 W. Sherman Blvd. (231) 759-8565 with Rev. Paul Phelps officiating. Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery. VISITATION with the family will be from 2-4 & 6-8 PM Wednesday and one hour prior to the service Thursday morning. MEMORIALS to the American Cancer Society or Harbor Hospice will be appreciated.
