Shirley M. Baird's Obituary
Mrs. Shirley M. Baird, age 82, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend, passed away Wednesday, September 29, 2010 in Muskegon. She was born August 18, 1928 in Virginia to Levin and Emilie (Kent) Fisher, and resided in the area since 2005. Shirley worked as a Registered Nurse at Chicago University Medical Center, and loved reading, birds, and watching Detroit Tiger baseball. On March 22, 2002 she was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Baird. SURVIVORS include 5 children, Peggy Black of South Carolina, Janet Cosgrove of Nebraska, Cora (Greg) Schaafsma of Michigan, Diane (Rick) Wiegand of Muskegon and Connie (Bill) O’Dell of Tennessee; 10 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; and close friend Karen Cizauskas. Shirley was also preceded in death by 2 brothers. A GRAVESIDE SERVICE will be 12:30PM Monday at Egelston Twp. Cemetery with Rev. Jerry Worrel officiating. VISITATION with the family will be 5-7 PM Sunday at The Sytsema Chapel, Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc. 737 Apple Ave. 231-726-5210. Memorial Contributions to VNS Hospice (888 Terrace St. Muskegon, MI 49440) will be appreciated.
