Mrs. Shirlie E. Crane's Obituary
Mrs. Shirlie E. Crane, age 85, passed away Tuesday morning, November 25, 2014. She was born January 2, 1929 in Muskegon to Edward and Esther (Carlson) Musk. Shirlie graduated in 1946 from Muskegon Heights High School, was active in local and state PTA, was a member and past Chief of the Vikings, and was also an active member of the Fruitport Eagles Auxiliary, where she had served as past Madam President and Secretary for 20 years. She also enjoyed knitting, crocheting, reading, gambling, and road trips. On September 13, 1947 she married Vance Crane, Jr. and he preceded her in death on December 3, 2012. SURVIVORS include 3 children: Dennis (Candy) Crane, Susan Votsch, Dean (Doris) Crane; 9 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; sister: Harriet Chalker; and many nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by a son: Darryl Crane on May 8, 1994; grandson: Darrin Crane; and son-in-law: Michael Votsch. A CELEBRATION OF SHIRLIE’S LIFE will be held 11:00 AM Monday, December 1, 2014 at The Lee Chapel, 6291 S. Harvey St., (231) 798-1100, with Pastor Aaron Gregory officiating.
