Shontrese Nicole Thomas' Obituary
Shontrese Nicole Thomas, age 25, passed away unexpectedly in her home on April 27, 2025. She was born January 26, 2000, to Natasha North and Bryant Thomas in Muskegon, MI. She graduated class of 2018 from Muskegon High School where she was a member of the Muskegon Big Red Marching Band. While she desired to further her education, ultimately she dedicated her life to the care of her son, Josiah. While Shontrese only had a short time on this earth, she was filled with infectious laughter and a bright smile. Shontrese was a humble, determined and courageous woman who loved her family and friends. Shontrese will forever be remembered for being an exceptional mother. No matter what life threw at her, she always made things happen. She leaves to cherish her memory the love of her Son, Josiah Odare Walton-Thomas, mother, Natasha North, (Jesse), of Ohio, siblings, Brandy Hannah, Bryant Thomas Jr., Tierra Thomas, Byran Thomas, Chantel Hairston, (Andre), of Ohio, Darrick Nickoloff, grandparents, Barbara Nickoloff (Paw Paw Frank), and Tommie Lee Thomas (Billie). Special Aunts and Uncles who were essential in helping raise Shontrese, Catherine Nickoloff (Lee) and Tiyonna Irving (Frankie), Monique Sartor (Chris), Lethaniel Nickoloff (Deja), as well as a host of other aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her father, Bryant Thomas, grandmother, Delores Thomas, grandfather, Willie C. Gordon Sr., cousin, Darren Raby, nephew, Cottrell Plummer. Her absence will never be filled. The visitation for Shontrese will be held on Wednesday, May 7, 2025, from 5pm-7pm. She will be celebrated on Thursday, May 8, 2025, at 11am. Both the visitation and celebration will be held at Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services - 6291 Harvey St. Norton Shores, MI 49444. Repass to follow at Smith-Ryerson Center.
