Sondra Mae Knoll's Obituary
Sondra Mae Knoll, age 89, passed away Sunday, July 16, 2023. She was born October 10, 1933 in Muskegon to Mathew and Inez (Pointer) Faust. On January 22, 1966, she married Duane A. Knoll in Fruitport, MI. Along with her husband, Duane, they owned and operated Coastline Realty and the Hearts Content Resort in Silver Lake as well as many rental properties throughout the area for many years. Sondra was strong in her faith and was a member of St. Catherine’s Catholic Church. She enjoyed camping, but most importantly, she loved spending time with her family. SURVIVORS include her husband of 57 years, Duane Knoll of Ravenna; four sons: Richard Pennell of Hart, Dennis (Sue) Pennell of Linden, MI, Bruce (Rita) Knoll of North Carolina, and Rod (Jean) Knoll of Muskegon; three daughters: Susan Bennett of Ravenna, Shelley (Craig) Bessinger of Ferrysburg, and Cindy (Terry) Zaagman of Muskegon; former-daughter-in-law, Dianne Landers; 22 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; sister, Margo (John) Hughes of Florida; and several nieces and nephews. Sondra was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Rochelle Hathaway; son-in-law, Owen Bennett; two granddaughters: Jillian and Kelsey; and two sisters: Gloria Schmidt and Lois Wallis. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11:00 AM Thursday, July 20, 2023 at St. Catherine’s Catholic Church with the Rev. Fr. Andrew Ayers presiding. VISITATION with the family will be from 6-8 PM Wednesday, July 19, 2023 at The Ravenna Chapel of Sytsema Funeral and Cremation Services, 3570 Thomas St., Ravenna, MI 49451 (231) 853-6511 with the Rosary prayed at 7:30 PM. Burial will take place in St. Catherine’s Catholic Cemetery. MEMORIALS to the Harbor Hospice Foundation will be appreciated.
