Sophia Rose Coulon, age 16, passed away on Saturday, September 16, 2023 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She had been in treatment for cancer for the past 9 months at Helen Devos Children’s Hospital, during which she was incredibly courageous, kind and gentle. She was born May 11, 2007 in Jacksonville, FL to Andrew and Jessica (Behnken) Coulon. Sophia was a student at Mona Shores High School where she also sang in the High School Choir. She was a gifted artist and enjoyed sketching and portraits. She loved being out in nature, hiking and swimming. She had a passion for baking, and her favorite times were spent with family and friends. Survivors include her parents, Andrew and Jessica Coulon; her sister, Claire Coulon; her grandparents, Eric and Jeanne Coulon, Brian and Joyce Behnken; and several aunts, uncles and cousins. A Celebration of Life for Sophia will be held 1-4 PM Sunday, October 1, 2023 in the Great Lakes Room at Maranatha Bible and Missionary Conference, Norton Shores, MI 49441.
