Mr. Stanley M. Romans' Obituary
Stanley M. Romans, age 84, passed away on October 12, 2015. Stan was born on May 25, 1931 to Joseph and Lois Romans. He served his country proudly in the US Army during Korea. In 1955 he married the former Diane Valentine and together they were blessed with 4 children. Stan worked as an Electric Lineman for Consumers Power until his retirement in 1991. He was also a member of Crestwood United Methodist Church. Stan was a dependable, patient, helpful, generous man with a great sense of humor. He was always willing to lend a helping hand and will be deeply missed. He enjoyed square dancing. He also enjoyed being around people and entertaining them. First and foremost to Stan was his faith and family. He is survived by his wife of 60 years Diane; children, Melinda Moore, Gordon (Francesca) Romans; Bonny Wood; and Karen (Rodney) Hyrns; 11 grandchildren, Katherine, Shaun, April, Jennifer, Chrissy, Tony, Elizabeth, Aimee, Joseph, Nathan and Nicholas; 10 great-grandchildren; and god son Brian Lane. He was preceded in death by his parents; and sister Jean Lane. A MEMORIAL SERVICE will be held on Friday, October 16, 2015 at 1pm at Crestwood United Methodist Church 1220 Creston St. with Pastor Mary Sweet officiating. VISITATION will be held on Thursday from 5-7 at The Sytsema Chapel 737 Apple Ave., 231-726-5210 and also one hour prior to the start of the service at the church.
