Stanley Sackett Shank, Jr.'s Obituary
Mr. Stanley Sackett Shank, Jr., age 56, passed away suddenly, Tuesday, December 22, 2009 at his home. He was born May 2, 1953 in Muskegon to Stanley Sackett and Virginia E. (Spooner) Shank, Sr. and lived in Lakewood Club his entire life. He had been employed the past 12 years as a welder for BMC Industries in Muskegon Heights and had previously been the shipping/receiving supervisor for Big Wheel. On June 10, 1989, he married the former Louella G. Chingman in Muskegon and she survives him. He was a member of First Evangelical Lutheran Church. He was an avid hunter and was active with the Twin Lake Gun Club. He also enjoyed fishing and his motorcycles, but his grandkids were his pride and joy. SURVIVORS include his wife, Louella; 8 children, Stanley S. (Dawn) Shank III, Naomy (James) Cooley, Timothy Shank, James (Monica Conley) Shank, Robert Shank, Kenneth Shank, Nichole (Michael) Kane, Tyler Shank; 16 grandchildren; 4 brothers, Patrick (Valerie) Shank, Michael Shank, Sr., Fred (Marge) Shank, Paul Shank; 1 sister, Virginia Bell; 2 nephews, Michael Alan (Andrea) Shank, Jr., Joseph Adam Shank; 1 niece, Julia Jane (Jason) Coffeal; and numerous other nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and 1 sister, Dorothy Swiateck. A FUNERAL SERVICE will be held 11:00 AM Monday, December 28, 2009 at First Evangelical Lutheran Church with Rev. Ken Staib officiating. INTERMENT will take place at Lakeside Cemetery. VISITATION with the family will be 2-4 and 6-8 PM Sunday at The Sytsema Chapel, Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc., 737 Apple Avenue, (231) 726-5210.
