I was blessed to work with Stefanie a long time on the then-inpatient oncology cancer floor at Hackley Hospital. She was a tireless advocate for her patients and their families, always tenderhearted for their struggles and doing what she could to help them in any way she could. If she could not personally get them what they needed, she had a gift and getting others on board to pull their skills in to help. You did NOT say no to Stef!! (Or if you did only at your peril cause she just worked on you till you knew what the right thing was to do and did it!!) When I worked with her, her sons were still in school and she was a Mother Bear to make sure all was well for them. I think very early on she was "stalking" the school bus by driving behind to make sure they were getting on/off OK!!. She was one of a kind, and I was very shocked and sad to hear she had died. My heart breaks for her family, because I am sure if I loved and respected her from the more remote connection I had with her, that her immediate family must be bereft. She was just a wonderful, warm bighearted person and the world was lucky to have her....Caroline...
