I had the honor of knowing stef since high school but we did not become friends until we worked together at the Holiday Inn in 1991, we became fast friends. For 5 years we hung out regularly until I moved away. In December of 2007 I ran into her again and it was like we had never parted. She used to come with me and my dog Monte to the dog beach and we would hang out and watch American Idol or play games. I am so sad that she had to go so soon. I loved her very much and will miss her more than anyone could know. I could not bring myself to write anything any sooner than this. Dear Linda & Cheryl,
I couldn't be more shocked to learn of Stefanie's sudden passing. Although it has been 20 years since we last saw one another (the last time was in high school), she has always been in my heart. She has forever been known to me as my first best friend. I remember playing together at our houses in Drexel Hill. I remember eating Lucky Charms together, building a snow fort in your backyard, and jumping off my front porch. I remember sleepovers and "playing" with Stef's hamster (if throwing it up in the air qualifies as playing). I remember Stefanie twisting her hair all into knots. My daughter does the same thing and it always makes me think of Stefanie. She will forever live on in all of our hearts, and my only regret is not having known her as an adult. A thought that has helped me with the passing of my mother is:
"Perhaps they are not the stars, but rather openings in Heaven where the love of our lost ones shines down to let us know they are with us." I hope this can bring you some comfort as well.

Our hearts were saddened to hear the sudden passing of Stef. It is so hard to really fathom how short our visit in this life on earth really is. I will always remember sitting beside her at some of your hockey games, and her joking about how you and Jimmy would fall over the wall when relieved from your time on the ice. Her quirky laugh was a joy to me. Our Lord didn't promise that our sorrow and pain would end, only hers, but he did give the many memories for you to cherish. Gods Blessings to you my friend. Linda, Cheryl, and Family...Words can not express how truly sorry I am. I remember when you first moved on Bonneville. Maureen, the Herder Girls, and I were playing next door and we saw Stephanie wearing a soccer outfit and kicking the soccer ball around. Little did I know then that we all would become friends for years to come. Even though we did not stay close after grade school, these memories of childhood I will cherish forever.
