Steven C. Carlson's Obituary
Steven Carrol Carlson, age 72, passed away on Tuesday, May 14, 2024, at his home in Muskegon, MI. Steve was born on November 15, 1951, to Carroll and Elaine (Stark) Carlson. Steve graduated from Oakridge High School and then worked as a machinist for many years before retiring. On September 17, 1988, he married the former Michelle Nelson, and the two of them spent 35 wonderful years together. Steve loved the Lord and attended Connection Point Church in Muskegon. He was an outdoorsman who loved to spend time in nature, whether it was turkey hunting, canoeing, or hiking in the woods. He had a great sense of humor and loved telling jokes. He enjoyed watching sports and old western movies. He was a very kind person, and more than anything he loved spending time with all his family, especially his beloved nieces and nephews. Steve will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Michelle Carlson; his mother, Elaine Carlson; three siblings: Cindy (Rick) Hernandez, Greg (Pam) Carlson, and Bryan (Lori) Carlson; three siblings in-law: Valerie Nelson, Raelyne (Rick) Castonia, and Sharon (Dan) Frees; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and other close friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Carroll “Bud” Carlson; his parents in-law, Raymond and Eileen Nelson; and two sisters in-law: Barb Homan and Carol Lockwood.
A FUNERAL SERVICE will be held for Steve at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, May 22, 2024, at Connection Point Church, 2270 S Mill Iron Rd, Muskegon, MI 49442. VISITATION will be held from 5:00-7:00 PM on Tuesday, May 21, at The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 6291 Harvey St, Norton Shores, MI, 49444, as well as an hour prior to the service on Wednesday.
