Steven L. Geistel's Obituary
Mr. Steven L. Geistel, 75, passed away Monday, July 25, 2022, at his home. He was born April 2, 1947, in Jackson, MI, and moved to the Muskegon area in 1963. He proudly served his country as a U.S. Marine in 1st division serving two tours in Vietnam. Steve drove truck for 43 years retiring from Verplank Trucking in 2009. On July 16, 1966, Steve married the love of his life Sandra K. Wilson his high school sweetheart. They were married for 56 wonderful years. She survives him along with Steven L. (Melissa Kersting) Geistel, Jr., Gregory (Shannon) Geistel, Sheri (Charles) Horn; 10 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and 4 siblings. Many days you would find him hunting in the woods or at the local dirt track with sons, on the golf course or deep in the woods on his side by side with his wife, Sandy. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Family meant everything to him, and he always looked forward to his daughter visiting from Ohio. He will be sadly missed my many. A memorial gathering will be held Sunday, August 7, from 1:00 PM – 5:00 PM at the Don Rea VFW Post #8846, 1061 Witham Rd., Muskegon, 49445. Arrangements have been entrusted to The Sytsema Chapel of Sytsema Funeral and Cremation Services, 737 E. Apple Ave., Muskegon, MI 49442.
