Steven James Hutchison's Obituary
Lieutenant Steven J. “Hutch” Hutchison, age 72, passed away Friday, July 3, 2020 in Muskegon. He was born in Niagara Falls, NY on June 9, 1948 to Frank and Rachel (Hodge) Hutchison. Steve graduated from Muskegon High School in 1966 and served in the Army National Guard. He had worked for Hackley Hospital and Professional Ambulance prior to joining the Muskegon Heights Fire Department in 1973. Hutch retired in 2001 as Lieutenant after 28 years of service. He was also very generous and never missed an opportunity to help someone in need. Hutch will be missed by his daughter, Denise (Don) LaBrenz; three grandchildren, Lauren (Isaac) Burns, Dawson LaBrenz, and Liberty LaBrenz; his mother, Rachel Hutchison; his friend and former wife, Bonnie Dykstra; and his four sisters, Nancy Bordeaux, Peggy (Bob) Carr, Becky (Gary) Goosen, and Lilly (Chris) VanderSlute. He was preceded in death by his father, Frank; his son, Daniel Steven Hutchison; and brother-in-law, Gene Bordeaux. VISITATION will be from 2-4 PM Friday, July 10, 2020 at The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 6291 Harvey St., Norton Shores, MI 49444.
