Steven Lampen's Obituary
Steven “Steve” Lampen, peacefully passed away from prostate cancer on February 9, 2025. He passed at his home, in Holland, MI, after having the opportunity to say goodbye to his loved ones. Steve looks forward to joining his mother, Dorothy, and father, Lavern, in Heaven. He leaves behind his best friend, Kathy Lampen, along with his daughter and pride of his life, Kaitlyn Lampen. Steve grew up with his four siblings, in Hamilton, MI: Richard Lampen, Mike Lampen, Jon Lampen, and Jane Boeve. The five spent their time adventuring and getting themselves into trouble on the family orchard. Once grown, they were joined by Luanne Lampen, LeAnn Lampen, Cindy Lampen, and Jeff Boeve for countless more memories, including holiday celebrations, camping, and welcoming 15 nieces and nephews.
Steve was a hard worker and a precise surveyor. He could easily be defined by his successful career and business. He worked and then co-owned Holland Engineering with Jerry Ford for many years. Steve was more than just an engineer and owner; he considered his employees family. He was not only a father, but also a brother, friend, uncle and regular friendly face at his local Russ’. Steve’s Russ’ breakfasts would not be complete without a nine-egg omelet and thoughtful discussions with his close friend, Pastor Ren Brookhuizen. He always prioritized a healthy lifestyle and continued to pursue outdoor adventures, his favorites being camping and hiking.
Throughout the years, Steve was incredibly generous with his time, resources, and money. He blessed those around him in countless ways. A favorite example is annually hosting his extended family at his home, allowing them to stay connected as growing up often pulls you apart. Steve will always be remembered for his stability, calm demeanor and insightful advice.
