Steven G. Nichols' Obituary
Steven G. Nichols, age 60, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, December 21, 2021. He was born on July 23, 1961 to Emery and Hilde (Bareis) Nichols in Muskegon, MI. Steve spent numerous years on the road as a self-employed, truck driver. He had a love for motorcycles and enjoyed riding his Harley all around town. Steve was an avid football fan and enjoyed rooting for his MSU Spartans while also making sure it was known how much he hated U of M. The Detroit Lions were his favorite team to cheer on and he never faltered in fanhood, no matter how many times they lost. Steve also enjoyed softball. He spent many years not only playing, but also coaching. Coaching was a true passion of his and he was always bragging about the kids he was coaching. He had a serious love of the movie Road House. “It’s time to go, Dalton.” He will truly be missed by all who knew him. He is survived by his 2 sons, Sean Nichols and Jason Nichols; 2 daughter, Taylor Nichols and Destiny Roomsburg; and 2 brothers, David (Debbie Covington) Nichols and Thomas Nichols. He was preceded in death by his parents. Arrangements entrusted to The Sytsema Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 737 E. Apple Ave., Muskegon, MI 49442. There will be a celebration of life get together at Effin Bar and Grill (5837 Holton Rd, Twin Lake MI 49457) on Saturday, January 29th from 12 to 3 pm.
