Steven J. Novak's Obituary
Mr. Steven J. “Steve” Novak, age 62, passed away at home Thursday, March 26, 2015 surrounded by his family. He was born on January 20, 1953 in Cadillac, MI to Frank and Francis (Aldridge) Novak, and resided in the Muskegon area since 2006. Steve graduated from Cadillac High School in 1971. Shortly after graduation he joined the U.S. Marine Corps. On December 6, 1974, he married the former Cynthia Mortensen and together they enjoyed 42 years of marriage. Steve worked over 40 years in the construction industry; his most recent achievement was the completion of the Muskegon Farmers Market. Steve was a loyal and loving husband adored by his wife, two daughters and six grandchildren. Steve enjoyed nature and the outdoors. He loved golfing on Fridays with his many friends at the Muskegon Country Club. "Isn't this just the best day of your life!” SURVIVORS include his wife, Cindy; daughter, Jessie (Jon) Cooper of Tampa Bay and their children, Julia, Josie, and Jonny; daughter, Nicole (Chad) Mettler of Muskegon and their children, Maddison, Sophie, and Emma; his mother, Francis Novak; and his siblings, Karen McPherson, Sue (Mark) Diamond, Paula (Lloyd) Crandall and David (Trish) Novak. Steve was preceded in death by his dad, Frank Novak, and sister, Peggy Novak. The Celebration of Life for Steve will be 12PM Monday, April 13 at The Lee Chapel, 6291 S. Harvey St. (231) 798-1100. VISITATION with his family will be 5-8 PM Sunday, April 12 and 1 hour prior to the service.
