Steven Edward Sackitt's Obituary
Mr. Steven Edward Sackitt, age 68, passed away peacefully at his house in Whitehall, Michigan on Monday, May 16, 2022. He was born in Battle Creek, Michigan to Wilford and Betty (Kaan) Sackitt. Steve was a 12-year veteran of the United States Navy. He was stationed in Vietnam and spent 9-years as a communication specialist at the White House. He later worked in the private sector as a technical engineer for Government Contracting in the Washington DC metropolitan area. Steve enjoyed woodworking, fishing, and spending time outdoors. On June 23, 1995, Steve married his wife, Shelia, in Manassas, Virginia and they moved to Michigan in 2015. Shelia survives him along with four daughters, Monica Sackitt, Ann Yohn, Pam Sackitt, and Sarah (John) Hile; three grandsons, two great-grandsons (with number three due in June); sister, Carol (Jim) Raskiewicz; and brother-in-law, Steven Strandberg. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Debbie Strandberg. According to his wishes, cremation has taken place and no services will be held at this time.
