Steven Edward Sohasky's Obituary
Mr. Steven Edward Sohasky, age 62, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Thursday, January 6, 2022. He was born in Muskegon on January 22, 1959 to Frank and Helen (Slater) Sohasky. Steve graduated from Muskegon High School and was employed by Sealed Power, where he worked for 30 years.
Following graduation, Steve moved to live his life on the lake and continue his life as an outdoorsman. Little did he know, the girl next door would become the love of his life. On July 1, 1989, Steve married his sweetheart, the former Kimberlee Sue Jarman, in Muskegon and they started their family together. They enjoyed time together ice fishing, taking evening cruises on the boat, and watching Christmas Hallmark movies. Steve especially enjoyed hunting at the family cabin. He loved showcasing his deer to others from the trail cams and spending time with family at the cabin, especially on opening day.
What most remembered him for was his caring heart and unbridled work ethic. This led to his life of service as he was known throughout the community for helping with odd jobs, such as his lawn service during his “retirement”. He made everyone feel like family and always put others first. The culmination of Steve’s life was being a loyal friend, witty brother, and loving father and husband.
Kim survives him along with their two children, Steven Andrew (Kelly) Sohasky and Megan (fiancé, Tommy Woodin IV) Sohasky; brother, Mike (Pam) Sohasky; and sisters, Sue (Don) Deuling and Sandy (Ken) Robbins. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Larry Sohasky and Dan Sohasky. MASS OF CHRISITAN BURIAL will take place 11:00 AM Saturday, January 15, 2022 at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church with Fr. Charles D. Hall presiding. A SCRIPTURE SERVICE will be held 5:00 PM Friday, January 14, 2022 at The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 6291 Harvey St., Norton Shores, MI 49444 with VISITATION following until 8:00 PM.
