Steven L. Yonker's Obituary
Steven L. Yonker, age 70, passed away Friday, February 10, 2023 in Fremont, MI. He was born on November 5, 1952 in Muskegon to Stanley and Charlotte (Bolema) Yonker. Steve was a builder and contractor for many projects around the area. He enjoyed many different outdoor activities, but the most important thing in his life was anything to do with his family.
On February 8, 2003, he married the former Michele Jonassen and she survives him along with their children, Peter (Dawn) Yonker and their children Bethany and Kaitlyn Yonker; David (Rebecca) Yonker and their children Gavin, Sydnie, Kadein, Brookelynn Yonker and Broedy, Raelyn, Myles, and Adalyn Bedford; Erin (Jonathan) Mullis and their children, Elliott and Piper Mullis; Derrick (Michelle) VanAllsburg and their children, Dexter and Wrenly VanAllsburg; Chelsea (Thomas) Burger and their daughter, Elenie Burger; Steve’s parents, Stanley and Charlotte Yonker; sisters, Sherry (Greg) Cole, Deborah (Thomas) VanBronkhorst, Sandy (Jim) Zwiers, and Cathy (Tim) Pomp; and many nieces and nephews. Steve was preceded in death by his first wife, the former Lorri Zwiers Yonker on October 11, 2001.
A special thanks to the entire staff at The Cottages at Martin Lake for their love and care that was extended to Steve and his entire family over the past year.
FUNERAL SERVICES will be 11 AM Friday, February 24, 2023 at The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 6291 S. Harvey St. Norton Shores, MI 49444 (231) 798-1100. VISITATION with the family will be 6-8 PM Thursday, February 23, 2023 and 1 hour prior to the service all at The Lee Chapel. Burial will take place in Sunrise Memorial Gardens.
