Stuart A. Miller's Obituary
Mr. Stuart Armond Miller, age 84, passed away Monday evening at a local hospital following a brief illness. Stuart was born in Muskegon Hts. on March 11, 1924 to John and Florence (Mitchell) Miller. In 1943, Stuart entered service to his country during WWII, serving 28 months overseas with the Third Army Division. Upon returning to Muskegon towards the end of 1945, he married the former Mable Vanderstelt on January 31, 1946. Mable preceded him in death on September 15, 1972. He then married the former Zelda Forton O’Neil in 1974 and she preceded him in death in 2007. Stuart was employed at, Clarke Sanding and Floor Machine for more than 40 yrs., retiring in 1985. He was a former shop Union President and served on the Board of Directors of the Clarke Sanding Credit Union. Mr. Miller was a faithful member of St. Mary of the Woods Catholic Church and was a former member of V.F.W. Post 3195 and the Muskegon Moose. He is survived by: six children, Marie (Robert) Robbins, Richard (Linda) Miller, Thomas (Lynn) Miller, John (Sherry) Miller, Stuart (Lisa) Miller and Timothy Miller and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by: two brothers, John and Lowell Miller and two sisters, Bernadine Vandonkelaar and Maureen Lawrence. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at: St. Mary of the Woods Catholic Church, Thursday, 11:00 A.M., Fr. Donn Tufts presiding. He will be laid to rest in Mona View Cemetery.
