Susan H. "Susie" Buday's Obituary
Susan "Susie" Helen Buday, age 60, passed away May 9th after a long struggle with dementia. She is now in the arms of our Heavenly Father. She passed away very peacefully at her sister Mary’s home in Norton Shores surrounded by her family whom she loved dearly. Susie was born on November 2, 1962, in Muskegon, MI, to Arthur and Helen (Blohm) Buday. She is preceded in death by her parents. She was a devoted member at Sacred Heart Catholic Church all of her life where she was always praising God with her singing. From a young age, Susie attended Ottawa Area Center and graduated at the age of 25 in 1987. Throughout her early years she was actively involved in the Special Olympics where she had a strong passion for track and bowling. From there she participated in Camp Sunshine and Friendship Club. Susie was also a familiar face at the family business, O’le Henry Gardens, where she found joy and purpose organizing push carts and sweeping. There is nothing more that brightened Susie’s smile than the sound of polka music. She was the first and last on the dance floor for special occasions. She was a participant at Life Circles for three years. Susie enjoyed sleepovers at her brothers, sisters, and niece Amy's homes spending time with people who loved her. She loved her sister's weekend getaways at the cabin up north which she would always call “camping." Susie and her mother had a special bond where they would routinely go shopping and out to lunch. Susie is survived by her brothers and sisters, Cheryl (John) Meardon of Parker, CO., Julie (Brad) Walker of Spring Lake, Tom (Kathy) Buday of Norton Shores, Tim (Cindy) Buday of Muskegon, Mary (John) Barrett of Norton Shores, Jerry (Therese) Buday of Roosevelt Park, and Jeanne (Steve) Kruzona of Norton Shores; as well as her 22 nieces and nephews, Brandon, Ryan, Jeffrey, Kristina, Jacob, Troy, Jessica, Rebecca, Sarah, Amy, Crystal, Katie, Jennifer, Nathan, Benjamin, Elliott, Jeremie, Christopher, Kelly, Stephanie, Jason and Andrew; and 31 great nieces and nephews. The entire Buday family would like to thank the kind and compassionate staff at Life Circle. A special thank you to Susie's caregiver Sam. Her dedicated care will never be forgotten. Sam always seemed to make Susie smile. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Life Circles or Right to Life of Michigan.
