Susan Kay Bueno-Benson's Obituary
Susan Kay Bueno-Benson, age 79, passed away peacefully on April 7, 2026, at the Leila and Cyrus Poppen Residence in Muskegon, Michigan. Susan was born on June 30, 1946, to Frank and Lerona “Mary” Lowden in Shelby, Michigan. Susan graduated from Montage High School in 1964 and attended beauty school to receive her cosmetology license. On November 26, 1983, Susan married Dionicio Bueno in Holland. Michigan. Susan and Dionicio enjoyed 35 years together before he preceded her in death on December 18, 2018. On May 21, 2022, Susan married Douglas Benson in Muskegon, Michigan.
Susan found joy in gardening, baking, and shopping—especially when it came to yard sales. Above all, she deeply cherished her family. Every gathering and holiday became something truly special because of her. She was known for her big heart, warm sense of humor, and remarkable generosity.
Susan is survived by her husband, Douglas Benson; daughters, Dawn Fuller and Jeannette (Richard) Barlow; grandchildren, Nicholas Greenawolt, Michael Sanders, Danielle Dunklee, and Paul (Chandy) Dunklee; 5 great-grandchildren; and sister, Pat Clark. Susan is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Dionicio Bueno; grandson, Raymon Gayton; 7 brothers; and 1 sister.
A memorial service for Susan will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to Calvary Church, 213 W Oak St, Fruitport, MI 49415.
