Susan L. Leatzow's Obituary
Susan L. Leatzow, age 70, passed away February 29, 2016 at Spectrum-Butterworth in Grand Rapids. She was born to Norman and Eleanor (Hetzner) Sturm in Saginaw, MI. Susan was a member of St. Mark Lutheran Church, enjoyed Thursday morning Bible study, and helped with the W.O.W. program for many years. Prior to 2013, Susan taught for 41 years at parochial schools in Minnesota, Chicago, and Muskegon, and spent her last 18 years at Orchard View Schools. Susan enjoyed baking, gardening, going for walks, spending time at Silver Lake and traveling. Her greatest joy was her grandchildren. On August 3, 1968, she married Edward A. Leatzow in Saginaw and he survives her along with 2 children: Julie (Tom) Stong of Kent City; Kurt Leatzow of Plymouth; and 3 grandchildren, Andrew, Kathryn and Daniel Stong. Susan was preceded in death by her parents and her brother and sister-in-law, Richard (Virginia) Sturm. FUNERAL SERVICES will be 11:00 AM, Saturday, March 5, 2016 at St. Mark Lutheran Church (4475 Henry St.) with Pastor Mark Gilson officiating. VISITATION with the family will be 4pm - 8pm Friday at The Lee Chapel, 6291 S. Harvey St., 231-798-1100. Burial will take place at Norton Cemetery.
