Susanne J. Borgeson's Obituary
Susanne J. Borgeson, age 77, wife of Richard Borgeson, local architect, went to be in the loving arms of her Lord and Savior on Saturday, June 6, 2015. She was born in Muskegon, Michigan on July 1, 1937 to William and Isabel Harris. She attended Muskegon High School and graduated from Hackley School of Nursing in 1957. The first three years of her nursing career began at the U of M Hospital in Ann Arbor while her husband was attending architectural college. She worked at Hackley Hospital in the O.B. Department for 40 years assisting in over 10,000 births including two of her own grandchildren. She was a member of Forest Park Covenant Church where she sang in the choir for 52 years, was the director of the Mission Committee, and the co-founder of the Personal Needs Pantry. She served the Lord going on 17 mission trips including Ecuador, Guatemala, Alaska, Kenya, and Kentucky. Susanne is survived by her husband, Richard; children, Karin (Phil) Peterson, Rick (Deane) Borgeson, Debbie (Mike) Baker, Greg (Kim) Borgeson, and Beckie (Andy) Bos. She was blessed with 18 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren and 1 sister, Rosemary (Tom) Dobb. Sue was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Dr. Richard Harris. A FUNERAL SERVICE will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday, June 9, 2015 at Forest Park Covenant Church (3815 Henry St.) with Pastors Wally Coots and David McCowan officiating. VISITATION with the family will be 5 – 8 PM Monday at The Lee Chapel, 6291 S. Harvey St., (231) 798-1100 and one hour prior to the service at church.
