Sydney W. Johnson's Obituary
Mr. Sydney W. Johnson, age 84, left for his heavenly home, April 12, 2006.  He was born March 7, 1922 in Reed City, MI to Charles and Edna (Bradt) Johnson.   Before moving to Muskegon four years ago, he lived and worked in NYC for 32 years.  He retired from AT&T in 1980.  He served in the U.S. Army Signal Corp during WWII in China, Burma, and India.  Mr. Johnson attended Forest Park Covenant Church and enjoyed participating in church activities.  SURVIVORS include 3 children, David (Elizabeth) Johnson of Kalamazoo, Debra Olney of Melbourne, Australia, Deanna (Charles) Gruszka of Muskegon; 4 grandchildren, Vivianna and Montana Olney, Elliot and Meredith Gruszka; and 1 brother, Ellwood (Pat) Johnson of Kansas. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Ruth and second wife Ann, and a sister, Lucille Oberg.  A MEMORIAL SERVICE will be held 12 Noon Saturday, April 22, 2006 at Forest Park Covenant Church with Rev. Paul Bengtson officiating. Burial will take place in Pineora Twp. Cemetery, Reed City, MI. VISITATION with the family will be one hour prior to the service at the church. MEMORIALS in Mr. Johnson’s name may be made to Forest Park Covenant Church.
