Sylvia Zinger's Obituary
Sylvia Zinger, age 96, passed away in Grand Rapids, MI, on Friday, April 7, 2023. Sylvia was born in Detroit, MI, on March 22, 1927, to Frank and Helen (Bawkon) Mueller. On September 30, 1950, she married Richard “Dick” Zinger, they spent fifty-five wonderful years together before he preceded her in death in 2005.
Sylvia worked for many years as a real estate agent and broker. She worked for Clyde Hendrick’s Real Estate, Vollmer Real Estate, and Remax before opening her own brokerage firm, Zinger Real Estate.
Sylvia was a devout Catholic with a strong faith and a devotion to the Blessed Mother. She enjoyed gardening, playing tennis, dancing, playing bridge and pinochle. Sylvia will be lovingly remembered by her five children: David (Carolyn) Zinger, Diane Stewart, Paul (Kathleen) Zinger, Pam (James) Pedler, and Cindy (Sal) Stazzone; 17 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Zinger; parents, Frank and Helen Mueller; three siblings: Robert, Richard, and Joan Mueller; and three infant grandchildren.
A FUNERAL MASS will take place for Sylvia at 11:00 AM on Friday, April 14, 2023, at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church (2929 Mc Cracken St, Norton Shores, MI 49441). VISITATION will take place on Thursday from 2:00-4:00 PM and 5:00-7:00 PM at The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 6291 Harvey St, Norton Shores, MI, 49444, with recitation of the rosary starting at 6:30 PM. There will also be visitation at St. Francis an hour prior to the mass on Friday.
