Sylvia E. Coburn's Obituary
Mrs. Sylvia E. Coburn, age 79, passed away Monday evening, February 7, 2011. She was born January 12, 1932 in Pikeville, Kentucky to John and Hazel (Coleman) Blankenship. Mrs. Coburn was a member of Grace Memorial Baptist Church, where she belonged to the Ladies Fellowship. She enjoyed embroidery, going for walks, and vacationing with family. On March 15, 1948 she married Edward Coburn in Huntington, West Virginia and he preceded her in death on June 15, 1984. SURVIVORS include 3 children, William (Sherri) Coburn of Grand Rapids, Carol (John) Gee of Sparta, Jimmy Coburn of Muskegon; 2 grandsons, Johnney (Vickie) Gee of Kent City, Ric Gee of Sparta; 5 great-grandchildren; sister, Eunice (Harley) Morgan of Grand Rapids; half brother, Johnney (Carol) Blankenship; and half sister, Barbara Losquist. She was also preceded in death by her parents and a son, Andrew Coburn. SERVICES will be 11:00 AM Thursday at The Sytsema Chapel, Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc. 737 Apple Ave. (231) 726-5210 with Rev. John Frank officiating. Burial will take place in Sunrise Memorial Gardens. VISITATION with her family will be one hour prior to the service.
