Ted F. Nielsen's Obituary
Mr. Ted F. Nielsen, age 67, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, April 5, 2020. He was born on April 1, 1953 in Muskegon to Frederick and Irma (Warber) Nielsen, and resided in the area all of his life. Ted worked at Cannon Muskegon for many years, prior to retiring. Ted loved being outdoors, and enjoyed fishing, kayaking, biking or anything by the water. Ted was active in prison ministries and provided individual guidance to several ex-prisoners. He was well liked and had many friends some of whom went back to his early life. Ted was a dedicated Christian, eager to talk with you about his faith and debate theological perspectives. In his early work life he worked closely with his dad in construction. Ted was always eager to debate politics with anyone who would engage with him. As his health difficulties increased, he had neighbors who were very caring and supportive of him. Ted had a nice sense of humor and an ability to make you smile. He loved playing practical jokes. Ted was very giving to others, often bringing many items to family gatherings for people to share or a meal to someone. In spite of his many health problems, he remained upbeat. Ted loved to talk about his family. SURVIVORS include his daughter, Dione (Timothy) Martin; five grandchildren, Anthony, Alyssa, Angel, Allison and Andrew Martin; five great grandchildren; and brother, John (Pat) Nielsen. Ted was preceded in death by his mother, Irma in 1974; father, Fred in 2011; and infant brother, Mark. A Celebration of Ted’s life will be announced at a later time.
