Ted Lee Taylor's Obituary
Ted Lee Taylor, age 67, passed away in Montague, Michigan, on May 31, 2025. Ted was born to Lyla McClelland and Wilson “Bud” Taylor on May 17, 1958. Ted graduated from Whitehall High School in 1976, after which he enlisted in the United States Army. After his time in the army, Ted pursued a career in construction.
Ted will be remembered by those who love him as an abundantly friendly person who never met a stranger. He had a generous soul and expressed his love through gift-giving. Every time he went thrift shopping, he would spot the perfect gift for a loved one, including tons of necklaces for his granddaughters. Ted was an excellent cook, and his daughters have fond memories of him making breakfast for them, complete with his potato pancakes, and arriving home from work most evenings with candy bars for them. Ted was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed long walks, camping, hunting, and fishing.
Ted will be lovingly remembered by his mother, Lyla McClelland; daughters, Jaime (Adam) Eller, Jakki (David) Bos, and Kaylee (Andrew) Westcomb; grandchildren, Austin and Jaida Eller, Isaiah, Ethan, and Emily Bos, Madison, Spencer, and Jonah Westcomb; sisters, Teri (Oscar) Osbo, and Sue Taylor; many nieces and nephews; and special friend, Beth. Ted is preceded in death by his father, Wilson “Bud” Taylor; his sister, Tammy Taylor; and the mother of his children, Lori.
A celebration of life will be held from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm on Sunday, June 22, 2025, at the Whitehall American Legion Algot Johnson Post 69, 803 E Colby St, Whitehall, MI 49461. Military honors will be performed at 3:30 pm.
